Skin Survival During Winter

A lot of people suffer from dry skin throughout winter. During these colder months, dry skin is caused by numerous factors including cold temperatures, low humidity and the use of indoor heating. The water in your skin tends to evaporate more quickly making skin feel tight and dry, as well as making it look flaky.

So how do we tackle this issue? Here are a few of our top tips:

1 - Oil cleanse

It may be useful to swap out your soap/ water-based cleanser for a gentle oil cleanser – this will stop your skin from drying out while also removing grease, dirt, makeup and impurities. Try our Mandarin Cleansing Oil for a deep clean.

2 - Protect your skin with a face oil

It's best to avoid water-based moisturisers during winter as these tend to dry out your skin fairly quickly. You might find that you end up with dry flaky patches of skin throughout the day when using a normal moisturiser but by using an oil, you'll lock in your skin's natural moisture and your skin will feel soft and supple. Try our Balancing Face Oil – it’s very calming and balancing for all skin types.

3 - Exfoliate

You only need to exfoliate once or twice a week and this will help to remove dead skin cells so that new cells can come in healthier and without obstruction.

If you’re looking to incorporate a new cleanser or face oil into your skincare routine, give our Mandarin Cleansing Oil and our Balancing Face Oil a go. They both deliver incredible nutrients and vitamins directly to your skin!
